Happy new year one and all. 2022 is here and at mojo&co we’re ready to help you to make it a positive, happy and productive 12 months with our beautiful, guided wellness journals.

There’s no denying the last couple of years has been a challenge in many ways for us all, but especially in terms of our mental health and one of the best ways to help you get in a more positive and productive frame of mind for 2022, is to start journaling.

But what is journaling and how do you start? We’ve put together some top tips on how to get in on this hugely popular and positive life change.

Why Journal?

Journaling has been shown to improve your productivity, boost your memory, your mindfulness, help you set (and crucially, achieve) goals, as well as improve your self-confidence, communication skills and boost your overall mental health. The knock-on effects for your life are huge. It’s a no brainer when you think about it. But the problem is that most of us don’t stop and think about it. Life has gotten noisy, overly hectic and with little space left for us to calm our minds, focus our intentions and set out our goals.

And speaking of goals, journaling has been proven to help you not just set goals, but most importantly achieve those goals. With regular use and clear planning, you can track you progress and watch your dreams become a reality.

Journaling can also allow you to take some time out for yourself each and every day and find the gratitude in your life. Finding joy and thanks in the small things is a complete game changer for your mental health and will transform your way of thinking to a more positive one.

How do I start?

There’s no better time than the present to start tapping into the positive power of using a guided journal like ours. Don’t look at it as something that’s complicated or only for a certain type of person. To be truly effective, journaling should be simple and is something that’s for each and every one of us.

Habit
The best piece of advice we can offer is to get into a habit of using your journal.  Consistency really is key. Set aside a time of say, perhaps the morning, or at the end of the day and allot this as YOUR time to sit down and use your journal.  The more you start to form a regular journaling habit, the more you’ll get out of it. You don’t have to spend huge amounts of time journaling, but a concentrated 10-15 minutes can have huge benefits. Think of this time as an appointment in your life, something that’s just for you and something, that is as far as possible, non-negotiable.

Honesty
Honesty is always the best policy in life and journaling is no exception. Be honest when setting your goals, tracking your progress and also when you come to review how you’ve progressed. If you had a lazy day or didn’t quite manage to tick something off your list, be honest about it, chuck it in the bin and move on.

Enjoyment
As well as journaling being a tool to unlocking a whole host of benefits, at the end of the day it should also be something you enjoy doing. For many, this tends to come with time. So, give yourself time to form a habit and get into that routine of using the journal. Very soon you should find yourself coming to really enjoy your 10-15 minutes or so of YOU time each and every day as well as the benefits it will have on your life.
